About
The person behind
the work.
I’m Tyler Greenman—a CPA, finance and organizational leader, Catholic, husband, and father of six.
I’ve worked in banking, accounting, finance leadership, and as a chief executive. Each has given me a different view of how organizations work—and how much depends on the judgment of the people leading them.
I’m interested in the practical side of that work. What do the numbers tell us? Who is responsible for the decision? Does a process make sense, or have we simply become used to doing it that way? Those are the kinds of questions I want to spend time with here.
Experience that informs the questions
My work has included leading finance and accounting at Pearl Technology, serving as CEO of the Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of Salina, and serving as Assistant CFO for the Diocese of Salina. Earlier roles in fintech, investment services, and accounting gave me other ways of looking at the same practical questions: how money moves, how decisions are made, and where responsibility belongs.
Those experiences give me plenty to think about. Something can sound sensible—a familiar fee, an established board structure, a long-standing process—and still deserve a closer look. I want to understand what is happening underneath, and whether it serves the people it is supposed to serve.
A life that belongs together
I’m a Catholic, a husband, and a father of six. I don’t experience those as separate from my professional life. They shape how I think about responsibility, what I owe other people, and how to put my experience and abilities to good use.
My faith has something to say about work: about prudence and justice, authority and human dignity, and our responsibility for what has been entrusted to us. When Scripture or Catholic thought helps me think through a question, I want to bring it into the conversation naturally.
What you’ll find here
This is a home for my experience, ideas, writing, and service. I hope it becomes a useful place for people who care about how organizations work and how we exercise judgment within them.
For organizations seeking fractional CFO and financial leadership services, my separate practice is Undoer of Knots, CPA.
